Introduction

My name is Sam Noonan. I’m a writer, performer and have over 10 years of experience supporting communities through creative engagement, person-centered practices, and community work. My artistic practice spans movement, poetry, music, and theatre, all of which serve as vehicles to explore connection and self-expression.

Why This Matters to Me

Art has always been my way of exploring conversations, connection, and the complexities of human experience, especially within marginalized communities. My work is informed by my background, where I have seen firsthand how creativity, and flow state can empower individuals and bring people together. This fundraising effort is about continuing to grow as an artist and expanding my ability to create work that resonates deeply.

This project is particularly important to me because it aligns with my mission to use art as a journey through visionary performance. By advancing my creative practice, I can continue to create meaningful, impactful work that bridges artistic innovation and social engagement.

How the Funds Will Be Used

The funds raised will directly support my development as an artist and the creation of new, impactful work, covering costs such as:

Training and Development: Supporting workshops, mentorship, or courses that deepen my understanding of movement-based and multidisciplinary art practices.

Artistic Collaboration: Facilitating opportunities to connect with other creatives to develop work that resonates with diverse communities, especially those who are often overlooked.

Showcasing My Work: Creating and presenting new performance pieces that explore themes of self harm, identity, and connection.

Production Costs: Covering the costs of materials, equipment, and other essential resources for creating high-quality, immersive artistic experiences.
