I am Fatima, a mother of six children ‍‍, living in Gaza. I am fifty years old , and while I have lived for half a century, I have never seen days as difficult as those we faced over the past year. A full year of war that has engulfed everything around us, turning our city from a place of peace and safety to one filled with sorrow, fear, and destruction .

With the outbreak of war, we lost everything we once hoped for in stability and security. Now, we live under a constant roof of terror, never knowing if the night will pass in peace or bring with it more sounds of explosions and the roar of airplanes ✈️. We have spent countless months and days unable to find even the simplest things for survival. Even a loaf of bread became a distant dream. We searched everywhere, but hunger became our only companion .

My children are the flowers of my life , but their future is now unknown. I once hoped they would receive a good education and build a bright future , but the war has stolen all those dreams. Their schools were destroyed, and they have nowhere to go to learn. They are prisoners of poverty and ignorance . I constantly ask myself, what will their future be? What awaits them after all this devastation?

My husband, my partner in life, is a sick man who needs daily treatment to survive . He requires healthy food and regular medication, but the situation makes this impossible. His health deteriorates daily, and I watch him suffer without being able to help because there is no food and no medicine to ease his pain. I live in constant fear of losing him at any moment, unable to save him or offer him a helping hand .

All I want is something simple — something that every human deserves. I want to escape this place that has become a living nightmare for us ️, to find a place where we can live with dignity and peace ️. A place where my husband can receive the treatment he needs, and my children can return to school and complete their education . I dream of a simple life, free from fear and anxiety, where we can live like everyone else, in peace and hope .
