My name is Hunter Babcock and this story is about my mother Angela Babcock,
It all started with an infection from a root canal that moved rapidly into her brain. On the morning of January 12, 2023, when my dad tried to wake her up she would not respond. She was rushed from my family’s home in Paradise, CA to Enloe hospital in Chico. The doctors were unable to accommodate her there because of the extreme brain trauma that was occurring and an expert neurosurgeon would be required.
Approximately 24-36 hours later she was finally admitted to the University of California San Francisco hospital where she has undergone 3 neurological surgeries to date. Angela has suffered multiple strokes due to the infection and swelling, so her mobility is very limited at this point and she is not speaking.
The doctors tell us that the road to recovery will be measured in months and years, not days. We are asking our friends and kindhearted strangers to help our family during this challenging time.
My father owns his own sign company, World Graphics. His time has been split between visiting Angela in San Francisco and his business at home 3 hours away. We have already incurred over a million dollars in medical bills in the first 3 weeks and Angela is expected to remain in the hospital for months.
Anyone who has been through or has had a family member go through a major health crisis knows that insurance never covers everything. Any amount that you can afford would mean the world to me and my family. If you can't afford to donate money, please say a prayer for Angela.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
The Babcock Family
