Reaching out for Ross

In August 2022 our beloved Ross – husband, father, brother, and friend – received a diagnosis of advanced, early-onset Alzheimer’s. As a man in his mid-fifties, this was a completely unexpected and devastating diagnosis. Those of you who know Ross, know him as a happy-go-lucky, productive, well-known member of his community. You also know him as a loving husband of 30+ years to his wife (our sister), Michelle, and as a sensitive and easy-going dad to his daughter (our niece), Emily.

Sadly, along with Ross’s medical diagnosis came the understanding that based on the advanced state of his Alzheimer’s he’s no longer able to work. Ross struggles with speech annunciation and the ability to find words. His memories are changing. Life is different and there are still many unknowns – physically, mentally and financially.

With the loss of Ross’s 20-year business, we’re hopeful this GoFundMe account will help ease some of the burdens for Ross and Michelle and allow them to concentrate better on Ross’s needs. As you can imagine the costs of everyday living – mortgage, food, gas, car, etc. – plus Ross’s medical and care needs will be hefty. Michelle simply won’t be able to meet their needs, and they are on the verge of losing their home. These compounded health and financial blows are truly overwhelming for them.
