Reading Boot Camp

Reading Boot Camp is a free primary education non-profit organization fostering reading skills through phonics, which is not this community-based institution's only goal. RBC instills good character and core values and, most of all, advances powerful thinkers into the world. The RBC comprises Recruits, Drill Sergeants, volunteers, and Captain Kathy (affectionately known as Mz. Chalkdust). Reading Boot Camp has dramatically impacted our Indiana community, and our “CAN DO” spirit keeps it running. But now, we need your help.

On November 10, 2022, a fire broke out in the Historic Mecca School, and it destroyed the location and physical resources of Reading Boot Camp: Natural Phonics Primer Drill books, teaching supplies, sound equipment, “Good News” stage, kitchen, food & food storage, and so much more. Most of the physical items lost were donated or procured through grants. The community has come together to sponsor a temporary location to continue this good work, and we need to restore the infrastructure.
