Real life Quidditch transforming lives
Many of us want and strive to change the world and make it a better place. John Ssentamu, at Good Shepherd school in Uganda, is the man who does… Every. Single. Day.
A few years back John had the brilliant idea to take the fictional game of Quidditch and make it a reality. Fast forward a few months and the sport is established, picking up major speed across Uganda and transforming the lives of the youths. Teams forming, meet-ups happening, tournaments taking place. John’s magic spell is having impeccable effects on youth staying in school, their mental health, their sense of belonging.
Wigrow is teaming up with Atlas Obscura (who have documented this wonderful phenomenon through film) to share John’s story and raise awareness of both its success, but also the struggles these communities face everyday.
Join Wigrow and Atlas Obscura for the release of the film and this wonderful opportunity to help John progress his work with Good Shepherd primary school and his surrounding communities.
How will the funds be used?
John has come up with a master plan once again! The funds will be invested into a poultry keeping farm. The primary goal of this project is to generate a sustainable income that will cover teachers' salaries and improve children's nutrition, while also providing hands-on agricultural education. Pretty sweet right? We're impressed too.
Please donate and share! Maybe a chicken will be named after you
