Real Meals For Atlanta's Homeless

Donation protected
Hi, everyone!

I'm Nick Love.  Professionally, I work in and around Atlanta's sizzling music and entertainment scene.  But, for the purposes of this endeavor, I'm just an Atlanta native eager to serve some of my city's less fortunate.

A little over a week ago, I was lamenting on my social media platforms about how I've become less and less impressed with some of the local canned food drives and turkey giveaways that are done around the holidays.   While I applaud the overall sentiment and the good that many of the local Atlanta individuals and organizations have done over the years, I recognize that there are some inherent flaws in its' execution.  For one, a frozen turkey is of no use to a person with no home, kitchen, or stove.  Second, the canned goods that are often donated tend to be items that the donor themselves does not want and/or would not eat.

So, rather than just complain from the bleachers, I've decided to get up and try my hand at feeding some of our city's homeless.   My idea though, is to feed them real, hot, restaurant meals.   Here's the plan:

I've spoken with the good people over at the Atlanta City Baptist Rescue Mission  on Peters St in the Castleberry Hills district and we are scheduled to feed their residents on Wednesday,  November 27th.  They usually serve lunch at 12noon when they typically have about 20-25 residents.  Then, they usually serve dinner at 8pm when they typically have 100-110 residents.

I want to purchase food from the 3 main restaurants in that area (Escobar, Spin, and Old Lady Gang), which all happen to be within 0.3 miles from ACBRM, and deliver the meals hot and fresh directly to their doors.

Anyone who works or dines in that area has surely witnessed the plight of the homeless men in that area.  On this day, and hopefully again during Christmas, I'd like to do something to help.  And, I want to encourage my friends to do the same.

This campaign will run thru Tuesday, November 26th so that doesn't leave a lot of time to meet our monetary goal.  Please donate and encourage your friends, family, coworkers, etc to do the same.  Every little bit helps.  I will do everything I can to keep this process transparent so that everyone can see how much was raised and how it was spent towards this initiative.

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE (12/13/19): We raised more than enough money for Thanksgiving so now we're doing another feeding on Christmas Eve.  If you are interested in donating for the Christmas Eve feeding, please do so!
