Paul Reaves is a dear friend of our community in Mauldin, SC. He is an exceptional friend, devoted husband, a loving father to two children, and a world-class air guitar player! Paul is a person that others gravitate towards and would give the shirt off his back to those in need. And his humor is second to none! He rarely misses a social gathering with friends and when present he always mesmerizes with his love and knowledge of musical minutiae. We are so grateful to have him as part of our “family”.
While gathering with friends recently, Paul had a scare that required an immediate visit to the emergency room. What followed was an emergency seven-hour aortic dissection surgery upon arrival at the hospital. Paul survived the surgery but it was uncertain whether his heart and lungs would be able to function on their own due to the nature of the procedure. Days after the initial procedure, Paul was back in the operating room to decouple his body from the life support systems that were required at the time of his original surgery.
Through all of this, Paul has been fighting. It is a miracle that Paul is still with us and we are so grateful for that. God has been so sweet to the Reaves family, amidst this valley.
We are hopeful that he will fully recover and be back to his fun-loving self, but we know it will take time. Paul is the sole provider financially for his family. In addition to their everyday expenses, Paul’s medical bills will be substantial. Our goal with this fundraiser is to put a dent in these expenses to take the stress off of Paul and allow his wife and kids to focus on helping him fully recover rather than feel the pressure of looking for alternative revenue streams at this time. Our goal is to raise $30,000.
Paul has fought so hard already and has made huge strides. We would love to take some financial stress off of them as Paul slowly gains his strength, speech, and motor skills through many months of therapy. We appreciate all the prayers and support for this sweet family.

To come full circle the title of this Fundraiser is two-fold. Paul can absolutely smash Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ sitting in a camping chair by the fire or anywhere for that matter! And we as a community, even when a miracle was a must, knew we could not Stop Believin’ in the power of prayer and the fight inside Paul!
