Rebecca (Beck) Martin

Rebecca likes to think she's very easy-going, and hopes that's the vibe she gives off to her friends and family, clients and co-workers. She carries a calm and centered feeling that affects those she's around  She likes to go with the flow, she likes to help, she likes to be there for others. But Beck will also admit that this easy-going outlook can fade sometimes. She loves those close to her, "fiercely," as she says, and would lay down her own comfort in the service of others. And she is also pretty un-chill at the pool hall or during a Raiders game. She has a competitive spirit about the things she cares about.

This makes Beck great at what she does, bringing self-confidence to her clients in her work, but mostly, being an incredible mother to her 16 year old son, Eddie. As a single mother, she has been independent and hard working to provide a safe and loving home for Eddie--and the proof is there when you talk to him. He is a great boy, on the precipice of manhood, ushered there by a tremendous woman. Beck would say, "she would gladly take being sick every day of the week, to keep him healthy."
Sadly, Beck IS sick. She has Cancer. And has a long journey towards recovery ahead of her. She remains optimistic, and comitted to fighting so she can continue to be there for Eddie and those she loves, and is using the competitive side of her spirit to fight the disease. The help and love of those around her has been a soothing balm so far, and she is grateful that she is not alone.

But Beck is independent, and used to doing it aloneand working hard, and asking for help is not really in her nature. However, she is going to get help. She needs it. From us. And so we are asking that you donate to her Go Fund Me if you have the means--to help with co-pays and medical costs, help shore the gaps of being out of work, and help give her peace of mind that Eddie will be taken care of while they negotiate the months ahead.  And if you are a little strapped like so many right now, she just asks that you send her a prayer or mediation at 8AM or 8PM--as the number 8 has revealed to be an important one so far in this journey. She believes she will be able to sponge up that energy at that time in the day.
