Rebecca King Ward

Young mother of two Becca Ward was shot 5 times yesterday morning in a Dollar Tree parking lot in Meridian, Mississippi by two people who wanted her purse and no witness to their crime. She is fighting for her life just as she fought to protect her two-year-old child in the backseat, who was unharmed by the grace of God. The local doctors were only able to remove 4 of the bullets, and she is scheduled to be transported to UMMC in Jackson where orthopedic specialists will attempt to remove the 5th and reconstruct her shattered pelvis. Her husband, John, is a star employee of the North Lauderdale Water Association who was just honored for his 10th year of service. We know medical bills and time lost from work are going to be another heavy blow to this family. The Water Association and the families are rallying to the cause, but we invite you to help as well, if you are so moved.
