Rebecca Pieper-Bohun needs our help
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ryan Doncsecz and I’m raising funds for Rebecca Pieper, my best friend and girlfriend. I will be receiving the funds and transferring to Rebecca, so she can pay the medical bills.
In a sad turn of events, Rebecca’s surgical procedure for her Crohn’s Disease, that she had in 2020 has not been successful. Although having a total proctolectemy and removal of numerous organs and having a permanent Ileostomy formed, she has been suffering from chronic and severe blockages which has led to many emergency hospitalizations and procedures and infections since her initial procedure. This is extremely rare and although she and her specialists were trying to come up with alternate solutions they have determined that re doing her surgery is the only route
It has taken many doctors’ opinions, and some first of its kind testing and procedures to determine possible solutions. It has come to the conclusion that her stoma must be taken down, and a new path and subsequent stoma be created. A highly invasive surgical process.
Rebecca had been planning to have the procedure operated in December, to allow for her Fall teaching schedules to run it’s course, and to have financial stability and enough funds available to cover the operation. her first concern was always that her family and students not be affected by her health, but Her body has not been cooperative and the emergency surgery needs to performed immediately!
As a voice/piano/acting coach, she teaches at both her private studio in Nazareth, PA that she owns and operates but also in the Performing Arts department at DeSales University. The Fall is a busy timeframe for teaching voice and music, where her income is earned. Having already been in a ICU bed for a week, and being hospitalized many other times this year, Rebecca faces another 4-6 weeks without the needed income for her life saving surgery.
Rebecca does so much for our communities and normally she would be the one rallying the troops to help and create fundraisers and meal trains but now it is time for us to help her. She has created a safe haven for students of all ages and is a leader who knows nothing but to give. In addition to her employment she also volunteers throughout the community in the school districts music and theatre programs as well as at the Nazareth Center for the Arts. After fighting through a physical and emotionally painful journey, the last burden to bare should not be that of financial debt and stress. Please help her. If there were more people like Rebecca in our world, our society would be a much nicer and inclusive space.
I’ll leave you with one final note, a positive one. Rebecca likes to play this competition with me: to see how many people either of us can get to Smile.
Complete strangers.
I’ve reluctantly played along, and watched as her vibrant energy lights up any stranger’s day.
I really, really want to try that game with her, but now I want to actively try this time and I encourage all of you to do so as well. Thank you!
