Rebecca's Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

Hi, my name is Tabitha and I'm fundraising for my mom Rebecca in hopes to help out with bills and relieve some of her stress as she continues her battle with cancer.

She wrote the following to explain a little about her story.

My name is Rebecca Hand and I am a BSN registered nurse. I have been married to my disabled husband for over 30 years. God has also blessed us with our five loving children, and four grandcats. I worked through Covid as a nurse supervisor, and got though that. I had just started a new job position in Naples, Florida, closer to home when I started to become sick. I was admitted to the hospital, only to find that I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and a tumor on my spleen.

We have had to use our life savings and maxed out all our credit cards and our family has helped out as much as they could. I have had to go back and forth to Moffat Hospital in Tampa, which is over three hours away, and stay in hotels and the hospital for weeks on end for radiation and testing. I am on medical leave from work, but now the doctors have informed me that I will have to have surgery on March 18th to remove some of my spleen and pancreas, and will therefore be out of work much longer. I was also informed that after surgery I may have to have chemotherapy.
