Rebekah Hartman Family Food and Healing!

Rebekah Hartman, senior at SHS, was in a bad ATV accident on June 16.  She had to be taken to the Vanderbilt Trauma ER.  She has broken two bones in her skull, she has a blood clot in a vein on her brain; she also has a concussion and fractured ribs.  Currently if any surgeries are needed they will be done at later time. Right now they are concerned about the clot in the vein on her brain. They will try with meds if her body can't dissolve it on its own.

Update on June 19:  Rebekah has been released from the hospital. Her vitals had been good from Tuesday all the way to now. So with that being said she has a long road of recovery. The blood clot is located behind her sinus cavity. There is nothing they can do for it unless it gets bigger and affects her eyes. The 2 broken bones on the base of her skull have pressed on the bottom of her brain. There is swelling which is causing issues with her speaking and walking. The neurovascular doctor said that with the swelling they would have to watch her. Bekah is in so much pain, but the family is told they can do things at the home for the pain which had been done at the hospital.   They gave mom info on what to look for if things get worse. Bekah has a follow up with the Trauma Specialist to keep an eye on on her swelling, skull, and blood clot. She will need to follow up with a Speech Therapist.

*You do NOT have to leave a "tip" on the platform.  It is purely optional and helps the company with website fees.  I usually do $1 so I don't feel like a jerk.   The platform recommends 15%.  This ain't a steakhouse!

**I wanted to create a meal train for Bekah's family, but I wasn't sure they'd want a variety of folks delivering things to them during the pandemic.  This seemed a much safer option for them!  I know they appreciate any help we can give them, so thank you in advance!!!!
