ReBoot ReWind: Let's Help Mark

A member of the ReBoot ReWind team needs your help! Introducing: Mark Westhaver.
In December of 2023 we asked the world to help us find a D-1 VCR to transfer a large archive of ReBoot master tapes and Mark was one of the first people who responded to our call. His background in vintage computer restoration and media preservation was tailor made for the job at hand. He is a fellow ReBoot superfan who offered to volunteer his time to be a part of a project near and dear to his heart. We welcomed him aboard.
Mark’s expertise has been essential to the ReBoot ReWind project. His hands-on experience running obsolete tape systems, his old-school video editing knowledge, and his experience with safe handling of degraded tapes have been instrumental to preserving the archive of ReBoot tapes. His work can be seen in much of the archival footage in the ReBoot ReWind documentary and in the new transfers of episodes of ReBoot. His efforts to transfer the rest of the archive are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Mark’s regular work in the film industry has been unexpectedly disrupted by a slow return from the 2023 Writers' and Actors' guild strikes. Without that work, his time has been taken up by lower paying jobs in order to make ends meet.
The ReBoot Rewind team would like to step in and lend a hand. With your help, we propose to raise $10,000 to support Mark during this difficult time. These funds would take a ton of pressure off of him and would allow him to devote time every week to our archival project for the coming months. Any funding above and beyond would support him even longer. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to Mark.
Thanks to you, the reader, we have already come further than anyone predicted. Together we have sourced the tapes and the players, we have tracked down lost documentation, we have consulted with experts around the world. The hardest parts of this project are behind us. Please help us support Mark while he makes our dream a reality.
