Support Ms Arlynn's Family during Eaton Fires
Donation protected
My name is Adisah Grimes, and my family and I are reaching out for support after the devastating Eaton Fires in Altadena.
For over 20 years, my mother, Ms. Arlynn, has been a cornerstone of our community. Through her work as an educator and community leader, she has fostered connection and creativity by teaching art and gardening programs, organizing cultural events, creating safe spaces, and uplifting those around her.
Tragically, the fire destroyed not only our family home but also the school where Ms. Arlynn worked, along with other essential workspaces. This loss has left our family in a state of uncertainty as we work to rebuild our lives and regain stability.
Fortunately, we have been able to address immediate challenges, such as securing essentials like food, medication, and basic supplies, thanks to the incredible support of the wonderful people in our lives who stepped in to help us. Nevertheless, we face significant long-term concerns about financial stability, particularly regarding employment, as the loss of the school has directly impacted my mother’s livelihood.
We were in the process of moving into a new home just three blocks away, but that house remains in the evacuation zone and at risk. Until it is deemed safe to return, we are unsure when—or if—we will be able to recover what remains. This uncertainty adds to the stress of finding stable housing and addressing the broader impacts of this disaster.
Your generosity can make a world of difference in helping us during this critical time. Contributions will go toward rebuilding our lives, securing stable housing, and addressing our family’s immediate and long-term needs.
We are deeply grateful for any support you can offer, whether through donations, sharing this campaign, or simply offering words of encouragement. Your kindness will help us move toward a brighter future, and we thank you for standing with us in this time of need.
