The Life of a Dog Rescuer!

Sometimes life throws you a wicked curveball, but a rescuer's priorities are the precious souls they care for!

Smiling Dog Rescue was born 18 years ago in Tucson, AZ. Saving, rehabilitating, and finding fabulous furever homes for more than 6000+ discarded lives, victims of misplaced bigotry and media exploitation of the pit bull breed. Being a retired vet tech, we have used our 5-acre ranch home for literally thousands of rescue foster dogs for specialized care during these last 18 years.

Three months ago (09/01/24) ,

1/4 of our home was flooded and nearly burned to the ground, which resulted in black mold everywhere, requiring extensive reconstruction that has still not been mediated due to Incompetent insurance!

Being a severe asthmatic, this has greatly impacted my health and on wednesday night, 11/07/24 my mission nearly ended on the way to the emergency room, by the grace of GOD, I'm still here. My poor husband & rescue partner is still in shock; it broke my heart to see the panic on his face! For now, treatments, testing, and rehab are my immediate future, and as for the ranch, we will continue rebuilding!!
