Rebuild Depot Street - River Arts District -Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Hurricane Helene has left a heartbreaking impact on our community, especially here in the River Arts District in beautiful Asheville North Carolina. Our beloved Depot Street, once full of vibrant creativity and life, has been devastated. Many of our neighboring artists and tenants have suffered great losses—businesses, studios, and livelihoods swept away by the storm. These artists are not just creators; they are the backbone of our local economy and a vital part of our tourism. Let’s support them in rebuilding.
We’re raising funds to support rebuilding efforts for the "Glen Rock Buildings" - 372 Depot Street & 408 Depot Street specifically. These funds will directly help cover interior repairs and rebuild costs that insurance won’t cover. Most tenants and unit owners on this street are left with no coverage for the interior walls, fixtures, or upgrades they’ve made to their spaces. This includes Local Cloth, Scorch Fitness Studio, Fetch Dog Spa, Zen Ink, ButterPunk Bakery, Ashewell Medical, Integritive Family Medicine, Rebel Strength and Rowing, Balm Salon, Mindful Counseling, ArtPlay, River Arts Dentistry , and several more. Every dollar raised will help ensure that these irreplaceable artists and businesses can return to the community and continue sharing their work.
These artists are not just creators; they are the backbone of our local economy and a vital part of our tourism. Let’s rally together to rebuild Depot Street and restore the vibrant spirit of the River Arts District. These faces, these spaces, are irreplaceable.
