Rebuild Flat Point Farm

Donation protected
If one were to look into the history and soul of Martha’s Vineyard, you would see a fishing industry and farming. Both of these once thriving ways of living are still alive on the Island, not as they once were but they still contribute to our Island’s heart in a very strong way.

Flat Point Farm recently had a devastating fire that burned down its barn along with its entire flock of sheep, chickens, 2 beef cattle and 500 bales of hay. This farm has been in the West Tisbury Fischer family for 80 years and in this time span many people have fond memories of growing up and helping out on the farm with haying season and other farm chores. This farm has also been an educational experience for many Island school field trips and a place where the community can come to purchase fresh eggs and meat.

As a relative to the owners of Flat Point Farm, I’m asking our Island community to please help in contributing money so the farm may rebuild a barn, buy new live stock, come back to life and once again enrich the soul of Martha’s Vineyard.
