Rebuild Friends to Lovers After Fire
Spende geschützt
UPDATE: Nov 19
This morning, I was able to tour the store and assess the damage more closely. Sadly, it looks like none of our books or merchandise will be safe to sell, and therefore we have raised our fundraising goal to $45,000.
As most of you know, we are committed to working with small, women-owned businesses and uplifting local/indie authors. We also staff 5 booksellers who I am determined to keep employed, and a talented social media manager who I credit with F2L’s incredible online presence. Funds raised during this process will be integral to ensuring F2L can maintain the people and culture we know and love while also recovering from significant losses related to the fire.
Thank you all for your understanding and continued support during this challenging time. As we rebuild, we are determined to continue shopping small and supporting local.

On the night of November 17, the Friends to Lovers bookstore in Alexandria, VA, sustained extensive smoke damage from a fire that occurred in our building. We are still waiting on details as to the extent of the damage, but what we do know is our current building won’t be operational for at least the rest of the year, and most likely longer.
As many of you may know, we concluded our grand opening festivities earlier that day and have adored seeing all of you come in to make new friends and spend time with old ones. We are so proud of the community we’re building and are determined to continue bringing folks together.
Fund will go to rebuilding inventory, and opening/renovating a new space to call our home in Alexandria.
More details will follow as we get them.
