Help Jimmy & Kate After Losing Everything in the Eaton Fires
On January 8, 2024, Jimmy Tartanella and Kate Bridges’ lives were turned upside down when the devastating Eaton Fires swept through Altadena, California, destroying their dream home. In a matter of hours, everything they had worked so hard to build was gone.
Jimmy and Kate’s story is one of love, resilience, and hope. They first met at a Friendsgiving in 2007 in Encino, California. Their connection was instant, and in 2013, they celebrated their love by getting married in a beautiful ceremony in Pasadena.
In 2017, they became parents to their first daughter, Alice, whose infectious laughter became the heart of their home. Just a year later, their world was shaken when Jimmy was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. For three years, he endured grueling treatments with Kate by his side, his unwavering partner and cheerleader.
By January 2020, Jimmy had beaten the odds, and the family moved into their dream home in Altadena—a place where they could finally breathe, celebrate life, and build new memories. In 2022, their family grew again with the birth of their second daughter, Madeline, a joyful and curious little girl who brought even more light into their lives. Madeline is the most gregarious and happy child there could be, with a boundless imagination that fills every room with excitement.
Their home was their sanctuary, filled with cherished family traditions. Sunday pancake breakfasts in the kitchen, bedtime stories on their cozy living room couch, and endless backyard playtime for Alice and Madeline. Every corner of that house held memories of their resilience and love.
Jimmy is a devoted dad, a loving husband, and an avid tennis player. He also has a passion for cooking—especially pizza. Every week, Jimmy would fire up his outdoor pizza oven to create homemade pizzas, bringing his family and friends together around the table for delicious meals and laughter. Sadly, the fire took away not only their home but also his beloved pizza oven, which was such a special part of their family tradition.
Kate is a loving mom who cherishes every moment spent with Alice and Madeline. She enjoys hiking, reading, and is deeply involved in her community. The bonds they’ve built with their neighbors and friends mean the world to her.
Alice is a bright, creative soul who loves books, drawing, and spending time outdoors. Tragically, she lost every toy she has ever had in the fire, and it breaks her heart to know that her beloved items are gone. But her spirit remains unbroken.
Madeline’s boundless imagination and infectious joy are unmatched, but even she faces the reality of starting over. Their lives have been turned upside down, and they need our help more than ever.
But now, after the Eaton Fires, all of it is gone. They lost not only their home but also all their belongings—photos, keepsakes, and the little comforts that made their house a home.
Jimmy, Kate, Alice, and Madeline are now facing the daunting task of starting over from scratch. They need our help to rebuild their lives. The funds raised will help provide immediate needs like clothing and shelter, and support them as they work toward finding a new home where their daughters can feel safe and loved again.
This family has been through so much and has always faced life’s challenges with strength, grace, and an unbreakable bond. But now, more than ever, they need our help.
Your generosity—whether through a donation or by sharing their story—can make an incredible difference. Together, we can help Jimmy, Kate, Alice, and Madeline begin the next chapter of their journey.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support.
100% of the funds raised will go directly to help Jimmy, Kate, Alice, and Madeline after losing their everything in the Eaton Fires. Your generosity will go directly toward giving this family the support they need to get back on their feet and regain their stability.
