Devastating fire destroys family’s home

Hi my name is Karina and on December 12th, our world was turned upside down when a devastating house fire destroyed my mom’s home. In a matter of moments, everything was gone—clothes, cherished memories, and the sense of safety they once knew. What makes this even harder is they didn’t not have homeowners’ insurance to fall back on!!!

My mom, my 11-year-old nephew, and my grandma have been left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. My nephew lost all his belongings—his toys, his school supplies, and the comfort of his own space. My grandma, who is elderly, is struggling to cope with the trauma, and my mom is doing everything she can to keep everyone together while battling PTSD herself.

Right now, they are struggling to find stable housing and meet basic needs like food and clothing. The holidays are especially hard, as this is supposed to be a time of joy and togetherness.

We are reaching out to you, our community, to help us give them some stability during this unimaginable time. Your donations will go toward:

• Replacing essential items like clothes, shoes, and toiletries

• Helping them rebuild their lives, starting with the basics

• Bringing some hope and joy to my nephew this Christmas
