Rebuild Hope for Nancy Smith & Family

Donation protected
On Monday March 24th, Nancy Smith and four members of her family lost their home in a devastating fire that consumed the historic old Meadows Schoolhouse—a cherished local landmark. They escaped with their lives but were left with nothing else.

Nancy has been a dedicated employee of Meadows Valley School District for 27 years, working closely with students who have special needs. She is a long time resident of Adams County and a well-known, well-loved member of the community.

Her home, located on Vet Clinic Road, holds deep family history. The road where their home is located is named after her father, “Doc Smith,” who ran a veterinary clinic from the schoolhouse for many years. Nancy and her son had turned the old gravel school lot into a thriving agricultural space, preserving both the land and the building's legacy.

Nancy, her sons, and their families escaped the fire with only the clothes they were wearing. Their dogs made it out safely, but a few cats are still missing.

This GoFundMe will help cover immediate needs: basic clothing, footwear, blankets, toiletries, school supplies, sleepwear, animal medications, housing, and other urgent essentials. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps this family take the first steps toward rebuilding.

Thank you for supporting the Smith family during this time of crisis.
