Rebuild Hope for the Elmaraghi Family

Dear Family, Friends, and Community,
This is Matthew Elmaraghi and I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share the story of my brother George, his wife Vicky, and their two precious children, Isaiah (3) and Amalia (1) Elmaraghi. They are victims of the recent devastating wildfire in Eaton Canyon. While we are incredibly grateful that they are safe, they have lost everything—their home in Altadena and all their personal belongings have been reduced to ashes. George and family arrived at my home at 3a.m. on January 8 with pieces of their lives packed only in a couple suitcases. George and I went back to gather what we could around 4:30a.m. Unfortunately, we were met with embers and approaching flames.
George and Vicky are the kind of people who have always put others first. Whether it was lending a hand with a big project or offering a shoulder to lean on during tough times, they have been there for all of us. Now, they need our help more than ever, even though they would never ask for it themselves.
The road ahead for them is daunting. They are already facing significant challenges with their insurance coverage, which unfortunately will not come close to covering the extensive losses they have suffered. This is where we, as their community, can step in and make a real difference.
I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to help George, Vicky, Isiah, and Amalia get their lives back together. Your support, no matter the amount, will provide them with the resources and support they need including necessities for the kids, to find stability and start anew (literally we have about a weeks' worth of clothes and one box of diapers). These funds will be used towards expenses in excess of federal aid allowances. It will show them that they are not alone and that we stand with them during this incredibly difficult time.
I know the devastation in Los Angeles is great, but here is a way we can help in a tangible direct way. Please consider donating to help my family get back on their feet. Your generosity and kindness will mean the world to them and to all of us who love them.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
Thank you,
Matthew Elmaraghi
