Rebuild Larry's Sanctuary: Workshop Recovery after fire
Donation protected
On November 15, 2024, while my husband Larry was in Western North Carolina assisting with search and recovery operations for families affected by Hurricane Helen, our lives took an unexpected turn. In the early hours, I awoke to the terrifying sight of our workshop engulfed in flames. The fire consumed everything inside, including Larry’s Harley-Davidson Street Glide, our tractor, mower, irreplaceable deer mounts, a vast array of tools essential for his mechanical work, and cherished items passed down from his father.
Larry, a dedicated Army veteran who served five years in the Infantry overseas, has always found solace and purpose in his workshop. It was his sanctuary—a place to decompress and engage in the work he loves. The loss of this space and its contents has been a profound hardship for both of us.
Unfortunately, our insurance coverage falls significantly short, leaving us unable to replace the essential items lost in the fire. We are reaching out to our community for support to help rebuild Larry’s workshop and restore the tools and equipment that mean so much to him.
Your generosity will directly aid in:
• Replacing essential tools and equipment
• Restoring the workshop space
• Assisting with unforeseen expenses during this challenging time
• Providing Larry with the necessary tools to continue his vital work in Western North Carolina
We are deeply grateful for any support you can provide. Your assistance will help us rebuild and allow Larry to continue his dedicated service to others. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing our story with friends and family would mean the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
