Hello, I'm Leslie. I am a resident of Manasota Key (Englewood, FL - 2019) and Plaistow, NH.

Our goal is to raise funds to help friends, family, and residents who have been directly affected by Hurricane Milton.

We have a strong tie to the community, a desire to make a difference and to help others in need. Therefore, we created The Manasota Key Recovery Fund.

(Our Goal of $100,924 was a starting point because GoFundMe said to be realistic. It also happens to be the date of the devastation. We will update as funds grow and the platform allows.)

Manasota Key, FL – In the wake of Hurricane Milton, which brought devastating winds and storm surges to Manasota Key and the surrounding Englewood area, many families and businesses are facing an unimaginable recovery process. Homes have been destroyed, beloved local businesses have been shuttered, and the damage left behind will take years to repair. Tourist revenue, which is the lifeblood for many, will also be lost this upcoming season.

In response to this crisis, we are launching the Manasota Key Recovery Fund, dedicated to supporting the hardworking residents and local businesses who have been directly impacted by this devastating storm.

Our beautiful community, made up of everyday Americans who have called Manasota Key their home, now faces a daunting challenge. Iconic local businesses like the Sand Bar & Tiki, White Elephant, Lock N Key, Waverly, and Magnolias—which have been gathering spots and community hubs for years—are shuttered and struggling to survive. Families have lost everything or face overwhelming repairs. The recovery will be long and difficult, but with your help, we can give hope to our neighbors.

We are committed to ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly to those in need.

Through the generosity of Freedom Financial, which will donate its services to manage and oversee the distribution of funds, we can ensure transparency and accountability.

**Our mission is simple**

1. Provide financial relief to residents who have lost homes or sustained significant damage.

2. Support local businesses that have been forced to close, helping them reopen and repair damages.

3. Prioritize the residents and businesses of Manasota Key, then extend support to those in the broader Englewood, FL area who have also been impacted by the storm.

4. It is our intention to help with expenses that are not covered by flood or wind insurance policies first. As the fund grows, we may update our policies on distributions to ensure we are able to help as many people as possible.

Distribution of funds will begin after Manasota Key is open for owners to assess properties and damage. The application process will require those affected by Hurricane Milton to show verification of residency and/or property ownership.
