Monday morning around 4:20 am, there was an explosion in our house, likely a gas appliance. Everyone got out safely without injuries, including the pets. But the entire house, garage, and two vehicles were completely destroyed. The entire house was engulfed in flames within a couple of minutes. Within 20 minutes, the house was gone. All possessions were lost except for the clothing we wore to bed.
Money will go towards food, clothing, vet expenses, and insurance deductibles in the short term. Long term, we will need to rebuild the house.
Kitty was found 2 days after the fire. Her fur is all singed, her whiskers are melted, and she has third degree burns on all 4 paws. Treatment will include several days of injectable painkillers, changing bandages, and going under for surgery.
