Rebuild New Stock: Help Ashley and Travis After Helene

Dear Friends and Community,

Our dear friends, Ashley Capps and Travis Schultz, are facing an unimaginable setback after Hurricane Helene's devastating floods in Asheville. Their beloved business, New Stock Food Studio (https://new-stock.square.site/), was completely destroyed in the recent catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Helene, leaving them without their retail store, refrigeration, and freezer equipment.

Ashley and Travis have nourished so many of us over the years with their small-batch, made-from-scratch offerings, featuring local and seasonal ingredients, often showcasing regional farmers and suppliers. Their loving commitment to bring people together over meals has inspired so many, but now they truly need our support to rebuild.

We’re launching this GoFundMe campaign to help them get back on their feet, enabling New Stock Food Studio to continue as a business and develop a new format that matches the current landscape in Asheville.

"Our store in the river arts district has been demolished. We spent $80,000 opening our retail shop, all of this was our own money that we had worked for. There were no loans and no investors. The goal reflects supporting our small team of employees, replacing equipment we lost in the flood, rent and utilities, opening food costs.

We want to cook and work and to help our community rebuild. We plan to do pick ups and deliveries of our food and eventually reclaim or find a new storefront location. Our production kitchen is still without water, so we are waiting to be able to produce food as soon as water is running in that location. Making healthy, comfort food that is reasonably priced makes sense to us, and we will offer pick ups and deliveries, similar to our previous Covid model.
