Rebuild Olivia's Life After Palisades Fire Disaster

My amazing best friend, Olivia Hateley— and her two incredible children, have had their lives completely upended by the Palisades fire.

Both of the schools Olivia’s kids attended burned down, their grandparent’s house and her son’s dad’s house burned down— and although Olivia’s house is technically still standing, the family will not be able to return to their home or to any semblance of normalcy for months and months, at the very soonest.

Olivia and her kids fled the fire without a stitch of clothing or any of their belongings and it is likely anything left in their home is now completely destroyed.

Because the structure of their home is technically in tact, this is an exceedingly difficult situation to navigate with insurance and the insurance company believes the correct amount of money for this family of three, is 26k for the next 12 months. That is obviously as insane as it is untenable.

Olivia is a single mom, who has always worked unbelievably hard to provide her kids with the best possible life they can have. Olivia is a domestic abuse survivor. Her unbelievable strength and fortitude made it possible for her to weather that storm, but the Palisades made it possible too. Olivia and her kids love their community deeply and their community loves them back. Their entire neighborhood has been completely decimated by the fire, but Olivia and her friends are working hard to keep their community together—and in order to do so, they need to be able to reside as close to home as possible.

The Palisades has been the bedrock of their lives and it is essential that Olivia and her children are able to stay close to their friends, family, and roots.

In recent years, Olivia has developed a fabulous jewelry line, The Elevated Bohemian, which has been flourishing and has just begun garnering the attention and praise it deserves. All of Olivia’s raw materials and jewelry equipment were in her house when the fire began and in order for her to keep creating, she needs the funds to begin again.

Olivia’s savings are tied up in her house and it is now functionally gone.
