Rebuild Onofrio D Oro on Matlacha

Hi, my name is Onofrio. I am a Designer and Master Jeweler. I design and make all my own pieces, and have sold my pieces on cruise ships all around the world for 16 years.

When Covid hit, it destroyed that part of business for me. It took me two years to open up my store in Matlacha, FL, only to have the store destroyed by Hurricane Ian in a matter of hours. The store was submerged under five feet of water, destroying everything inside the store, along with the factory and equipment I used to make my jewelry.

This was everything I had as far as income, and now it is gone. I cannot even rely on insurance to help recover, as I could not obtain insurance on my new store before the storm hit.

Any help that you can give will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will go towards restoring my business in Matlacha, including internal structural repairs, electrical and lighting repairs/replacement, plumbing, showcase and display replacements, painting, outside groundwork, and purchasing new jewelry tools and equipment.

Every business helped in Matlacha is one step closer to restoring the community and the island to its former beauty.
