Rebuild Side Pie: Support your favorite local pizzeria.

My name is Kevin Hockin, and I have been a resident of this community for 11 years. My wife & I, along with our 7-year-old daughter, have loved being a part of this neighborhood and bringing something that started as a pandemic project to a full-blown brick-n-mortar concept that people appreciate.

Our whole neighborhood burned to the ground today. This is our community hub and pizza/coffee sanctuary. We have customers that have a standing order every week, same day, same time, for years. Not kidding. We have a cellphone, so when you call us and we are on the other line, we call you back. HAHAHA! Have you ever had a pizzeria call you back to take your order? We give your dog treats. If you have kids and I'm working, I'm probably giving them free fancy lollipops imported from France or free stickers. We are that kind of joint...a real neighborhood spot. I bet I know 90% of our regulars' dogs' names...we are that place.

We have had artists such as Dawes, White Denim, Tapers Choice, Richards Pictures, Tommy Brenneck perform here FOR FREE. I have always been willing to pay those artists OUT OF POCKET, along with all associated production costs, sound, etc., and charge NO COVER. WHY? Because I love this community and didn't want to put financial pressure on anyone. It seemed like the right thing to do. I turned a shitty loading dock into what I saw as a beautiful "backyard stage" of local talent.

We have shipped merch all over the world. Like, lots of it. We've been to Tokyo and seen people walking the streets wearing Side Pie shirts. It's surreal. All from what started in my side yard in the pandemic as a project to give back to the community.

Now, I, along with 14 other friends (I hate the word employees, and everyone I employ IS a friend) are out of jobs. For how long? Who knows. A long time. Too long to keep my head on straight and not fear for my family. We have bills. We have financial responsibilities. And this is scary stuff.

If you've gotten this far...yes, we need money. No joke.
