Rebuild the Barbers' Future Together

Hello there, we are the Barbers. My name is Charlie, my wife's name is Crystal, and we have five kids. We have a twelve-year-old daughter, a 7-year-old son, a six-year-old son, a two-year-old daughter, and a newborn who is only two weeks old. We found ourselves in a dilemma post-COVID. I was doing some illegal activities trying to take care of my family, and unfortunately, it landed me in a bad place. I went to jail on May 30th, 2024, until December 20th, 2024, and it was rough. While I was incarcerated, my wife and kids lost everything. They are currently in a mold-infested, dilapidated apartment in the Midwest. I'm currently out of jail, with goals to get into ministry and bring people to Christ in my everyday walk.

Crystal and I have been together for 15 years, and despite some downfalls, we are fighting to hold onto each other and our family with everything we have. I'm now on probation, and we are trying to get our family back together.

We do not do drugs, we are not alcoholics, and we are essentially straight-edge individuals except for some wine and the occasional drink maybe once every other month. We are literally just a normal family caught in a crap storm.

At this point, we are blessed by the body of Christ to be able to reunite. Being twelve days post-C-section and having 4 other kids in tow, there really is no cheap option. We are in desperate need of help; we are trying to get Crystal and the kids here on a flight with their belongings as quickly as possible.

We want to be back together, and they are also being evicted due to the mold in the home and the other broken amenities. There is mold, no heat or AC, standing water from mysterious leaks, and the apartment complex has been recently sold and is backlogged. The apartment is her daughter's, and her daughter and partner chose not to pay the rent until repairs were done, which has led to an eviction. The apartment is uninhabitable as it is, and the only real option is to get my wife and kids back to Florida with me, where we have a roof, a future, and each other. My stepdaughter and her fiancé have a plan, but due to their financial constraints, it doesn't accommodate my wife and kids, who really just need to get back to me.
