Rebuild the White House at Black Oak Ranch
Donation protected
On Friday, November 4th, we lost our beloved community cookhouse to a catastrophic fire. During the tense minutes before the arrival of our stellar fire department, Hog Farmers Eamon and Dorje used our fire hose to protect the nearby buildings, trees, and propane tank. It was impossible to save the house. We watched the fire consume the fridges, the cook stove, our community dining table, and the walls and roof of our beloved space. We lost precious family photos, artwork, posters, and maps.
Affectionately known as the White House, this was the central kitchen/dining room for the entire Black Oak Ranch community and friends. It was where we held all family dinners, holidays and meetings for the last 37 years! The White House was the hearth and heart of the Hog Farm and central to the way of life we have diligently worked to sustain.
There was always room for one more at the White House dinner table, and we aim to make it that way again. We are planning to rebuild this community asset.
The outpouring of love and offers of support from the community touches our hearts. We would like to graciously accept. We are going to need it!
We acknowledge times are tough so please only donate if you are able. We will gladly accept donations of time and expertise in the cleanup and rebuild once we are ready. If you prefer, donations can be made out to Black Oak Ranch LLC and be mailed to:
