Youth For Mission Fiji

My name is Kelera Vodo. I now reside in the United States of America. I had served with Youth With A Mission for almost 8 yrs . 2 yrs in the Kingdom of Tonga ! I had started when we had the few of us of about 6 youths , given an open shed , by the landowner as he had given us about 2 acres of his land to operate on and live . We tied up sheets as partition to divide and make rooms , where about 3 bunk beds fits . We did close up the walls with some grass , as was common in the islands . After some years I left Nadi where YWAM FiJi started , then visiting teams and speakers come and go over the years . I had started with YWAM in 1993, left after about 8 yrs serving . We don’t get paid as it’s more like volunteered work . But we raise our own financial support as we are responsible to pay YWAM a monthly dues to cover bills & food . People have given , donated and during some visits to YWAM Vuniyasi , I’ve seen better houses then what I had lived in , no more thatched or grass houses , surprised to see wooden and a brick house . And not just one house , 5 small houses on the property . A concrete bathroom & toilet as well . After some years now ! I hear the request to those still serving that they needing repair.
