Rebuilding a Home for Steve and Alicia

Joshua and Chasity Baker are raising funds to help lift the burden for Joshua's parents who were affected by this natural disaster.

Dr. Baker and Alicia's home was shaken dramatically by the 7.0 earthquake that happened in Alaska on November 30th 2018. They live in Eagle River where some of the more tragic scenes from the earthquake took place. Their home is in need of extensive exterior and interior repairs. The siding on their house crumbled on one side, light fixtures and dishes fell and shattered everywhere throughout, drywall is significantly cracked, furniture crashed into the walls and floors, some of the plumbing in the bathroom was busted open, and it is unknown if there are structural issues that need to be repaired. 

We are asking that people give in any way they can to help this family in such a devastating time. Their insurance would not cover earthquake damage, so any help is greatly appreciated. The community has already rallied together the day after to help with the initial cleanup that needed to happen. Repairs will be happening as soon as possible because they are currently displaced from their home. All funds that are raised will go to the repairs that are needed for their home to be a safe place to live.

Other ways to help would include providing meals or pertinent skill sets for home repairs. I know Alicia and Steve cherish your prayers in this difficult and uncertain time.
