Rebuilding After Tragic Gas Explosion

Hello family, friends, and world.

My name is Shakeya Dumas mother of Brandon Bradwell .

On March 31st, my son Brandon (28) and my 2 granddaughters ages 7 and 3 years old were sleeping in bed when there was a gas explosion at their apartment building.

Causing Brandon to receive burns over 90% of his body and my granddaughter received burns over 15% to her face and arm.

The blast was so strong it blew the back of the building open, and that's where their bedroom was located. From the severity of his injuries, doctors believe Brandon went back into the apartment building.

Knowing how much my son loves his daughters, he would've gave his life if that meant saving theirs.

So if he didn't know if both his kids made it out he was definitely going back in.

Despite being burned over 90% Brandon still managed to carry his 3 year old daughter out of the building and then collapsed. His 7 year old daughter was unharmed Thank God.

Within hours the city tore down the apartment building. Brandon and his girls lost everything.

Brandon has been sedated and on a ventilator since Monday. Doctors say this will be a long journey with multiple surgeries. It's so hard to see your child with tube's everywhere and its nothing you can do but PRAY.

April 7th while Brandon was in surgery he lost oxygen to his brain for an extended period of time.

multiple test have been done and now they're telling me my son has brain damage.

They were ready to give up. But I'm not I've been praying HARD and a week later Brandon moved his arm and head.

As his mother I am his ONLY advocate

I have been by his side since March 31st and will be his caregiver throughout his recovery.

When I'm not with Brandon I'm at the hospital with with 3 year granddaughter . Which will prevent me from working.

Medical bills are starting to come in as of today it's $500,000 and counting. The girls need clothes, shoes, and everyday essentials. As we focus on trying to give them as much normalcy has possible.

I'm asking for prayers, funds to help replace the kids clothes and their everyday living while Brandon is recovering.

I'm also asking for help with his medical bills and recovery cost.

Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated and will go towards the girls and medical bills.
