Rebuilding Dreams: Support Ahmed in a War-Torn Community

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Supporters,

My name is Ahmed, and I'm a 11-year-old boy living in Gaza with my nine membered family.
I'm reaching out to you from the heart of Gaza, the war-torn zone, where every day is a battle for survival.

Here is my story:
I’m currently in the sixth grade and I am a passionate learner who thrives on exploring new ideas.

With deep affection for my school and teachers I’ve consistently excelled academically, often ranking first in my class.

Beyond the classroom, I find joy in playing football and swimming, indulging in the thrill of physical activity. However my aspirations extend far beyond sports; I dream of becoming a doctor to serve the underprivileged in my city, where challenges are abundant, and resources are scarce.

Our home, once a place filled with warmth, safety and childhood memories, vanished in an instant when war struck.
Along with it, I lost my school bag and all my books, making it even more challenging to continue my education amidst the chaos.

Nowadays, more than six months after this loss, fear, displacement and suffering, every day in Gaza is a tough challenge for us to survive.
once our home was destroyed; we’re forced to flee more than once in harsh and catastrophic circumstances which weigh heavily on my family.
these days I live in a very crowded refugee camp. Life here is tough, and I feel it every day.

Every day,I navigate through a maze of makeshift tents and sandy pathways bearing the burden of an uncertain future. In the sweltering heat, I help my family fetch water from communal containers, a basic necessity that is painfully scarce. Nights offer little respite, as me and my family huddle together in their fragile shelter, vulnerable to the elements and lacking the security that every child deserves.

An access to clean water and fuel to make fire and prepare food is an almost impossible goal for us every morning.

My father, who is old, is unable to rebuild our lives from scratch.
especially after he lost his job and our source of income he couldn’t find away to rebuild what we lost.

Despite the bleak surroundings and the constant threat of conflict, my spirit remains unbroken. But I need your support.

We are incredibly grateful to have a family friend, Jihane Mourhir from France, who has been a constant source of support and hope for us. Jihan always stays in touch, checking on us, praying for our well-being, and helping us in any way she can .Her assistance is invaluable as we navigate the complex process of receiving and managing donations, ensuring that the funds will reach us safely and be used effectively. We appreciate her unwavering support in these challenging times. I hope to meet her and play with her little children someday.

Your donation can provide secure essential resources for our family, who have faced severe hardships due to forced displacement and the ongoing conflict. The funds will be used to cover a range of critical needs:
  • Personal Expenses: Without jobs, we are struggling to meet our daily personal expenses.
  • Clothing and Bedding: Having left everything behind during forced displacement, we urgently need funds to purchase clothing and bedding.
  • Providing Shelter and Rebuilding Home: Funds will be used to rebuild our home damaged in the conflict.
  • Supporting Evacuation and Secure Relocation Efforts: Due to the instability of the situation, we may need to evacuate:
  • Transit Costs: Financial support is needed for the transit from Gaza to the Rafah crossing. To cross the Rafah Gaza-Egypt border, it is necessary to have your name listed on the Crossing List (paid permit). Coordinators in Egypt, who have the authority to add names to this list, are currently demanding between $5,000 and $8,000 per person. They will not add our names until we can prove that we have the money ready.
  • Short-Term Accommodation: Renting an apartment in Egypt for a short period is crucial for us to plan our next steps.
  • Travel Tickets and Accommodation Costs: Funds are necessary for travel tickets and other accommodation expenses as we seek a safer and more stable environment.
  • Starting Over: Additional support is needed for basic expenses to help us restart our lives.

** Note on Changing Situation:
Please understand that the situation on the ground is unstable and constantly changing. We may have to consider evacuation as a forced option, and this could lead to changes in the required funding and the overall target. Prices for goods and services can also fluctuate significantly. We will keep you informed of any major changes and adjust our plans accordingly to ensure the funds are used in the most effective way possible.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our lives and give us hope and a chance to start anew.

Together, we can overcome the challenges of war and create a better future.

Thank you for your kindness and compassion.

Sincerely,
Ahmed and his Family
