Rebuilding Hope After Tragedy: Support for Tersia De Jager

Recently, Tersia suffered the devastating loss of her beloved husband and business partner, Ben De Jager. As if that heartbreak wasn't enough, their business’ tasting room and gift shop—a source of livelihood and pride—was tragically destroyed in a fire yesterday.

While navigating challenges that came after Ben’s passing, not only a void in her life but also a series of complications, including delays in processing his will. Due to this and many legal hurdles, Tersia has been unable to obtain insurance, after several attempts, for the community loved Columbias Gardens Winery’s Burl Tasting Room and Gift Shop.

In the wake of these combined losses, Tersia is facing overwhelming challenges. The emotional toll of losing a partner is compounded by the financial strain of rebuilding a business. As she navigates through this incredibly difficult period, we want to rally around her and bless her with support.

The tasting room was not just a place of business but a labor of love and a cornerstone of the De Jager’s family and our community.
