Rebuilding Hope for Tornado-hit Family

On May 7th, a catastrophic tornado struck our community, tearing through homes and uprooting lives with relentless fury. Among those most deeply affected is a family at 1706 W Centre Ave, where an elderly widow, her son, and two grandchildren faced unimaginable fear and trauma.

As the storm unleashed its might, the son was returning from work. With streets blocked and no way to drive, he was forced to navigate the debris-strewn paths on foot, racing against time to reach his loved ones. The anguish of losing contact heightened his panic until, after more than an hour of harrowing journey, he found his mother and children huddled together in the basement—wet, scared, and crying.

He led them to relative safety across the street in those terrifying moments, showing extraordinary courage amidst the chaos. As the initial shock subsides, he tirelessly sifts through the ruins, salvaging any remnants of their life before the disaster.

I, Bilal Alhawamdeh, am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Farhan Ali, a close friend. Farhan has been added as the beneficiary, which means he can withdraw the funds directly. The funds raised will support Farhan Ali and his family as they confront the daunting task of rebuilding their home and lives.
