My name is Ahmed Hassan, a 21-year-old Palestinian living in the Gaza Strip.

"I am a survivor of this genocide." This is my reality. My life, dreams, and hopes have been shattered. For the past eight months, survival has meant searching for food, water, and medicine. Every day, I see the devastating aftermath—body parts scattered around. I have been displaced more than five times, and every night, I wake up from nightmares, unable to sleep.

At 10:00 PM on October 6, 2023, I was hired as a front-end web developer with a Saudi company. My first day was supposed to be October 7, working remotely. However, that morning I woke up to violent bombings in my area, causing me to lose my first international job opportunity from Upwork.

I was in my third year of university, but now the university is completely destroyed. It will take years to rebuild.
