Rebuilding Lives and Connections Together

Over the past few days, I’ve been one of the fortunate ones, able to stay connected and help move critical resources for our community. Many of you have reached out, used my knowledge, and asked how you can help. Now, I have something important and urgent to share.

Western North Carolina has been devastated by a powerful hurricane, leaving many of our communities without essential services. In these challenging times, reliable communication, food, water, and access to power are life-saving, especially for our rural areas where recovery is even harder.

As the Energy and Economic Development Manager for the Regional Council of Government, Chair of the Buncombe County Soil and Water Conservation District, and community member, I’ve seen firsthand how this devastation has impacted our region. It has underscored the importance of our work—ensuring access to broadband, alternative energy, providing critical needs, and now, rebuilding efforts.

Our friends and partners across government, churches, local businesses, nonprofits, and neighbors are rallying together to help those most affected. Now, we need your support to restore energy and communication resources that are vital to saving lives and meeting basic needs.

I’m partnering with Critical Services Microgrid to deploy solar panels, inverters, batteries, contained microgrid units, mobile communications, and other critical needs. All funds raised will directly support urgent hurricane recovery efforts. If energy and connectivity needs are fully met, additional funds will go toward other essential supplies like water, baby formula, and food for those in desperate need.

Your generosity will help bring relief, rebuild connections, and create a more resilient infrastructure that better prepares us for future challenges. Every donation, big or small, makes a meaningful difference.
