Rebuilding Lives: Help for Uncle Efren & Dad

Dear Compassionate Hearts and Beloved Friends,

My family and I are in a wake of tremendous loss, our family home, which has housed many family members, friends, and those in need of a safe space was burned to the ground.

Our uncle, Efren Rosas, despite navigating life with a single leg, barely escaped the fierce flames that engulfed our family home. His bravery speaks volumes and are grateful that through his fierce fight he is safe. Efren Rosas, currently suffers from 2nd degree burns and currently is being treated at Valley Medical.

Equally, our Dad who has been my uncle’s sole caregiver now faces the regretful and harsh reality. After recently finishing a 30+ year mortgage bundled with home insurance, the action to renew insurance was ranked lower in priority; leaving him without the financial safety net we believed was in place. Multiple family adversities were faced during that crucial time such as, placing our grandfather in a permanent care home, as well as the second amputation of our Uncle’s leg. Our father was putting our family first above his own which resulted in delayed execution to renewing home insurance. The impending loss of our home weighs heavily on his shoulders, and witnessing his strength in the face of this adversity is both inspiring and heart-wrenching.

My brothers and I, despite pulling from our own resources, do not have enough to cover for all the costs we need to recover and rebuild. This is why we created this endeavor to provide our Father and Uncle the support to once again regain not only their home but the safe space we all experienced growing up. Your support will pave the way for securing temporary shelter, essential items, and the initial steps toward rebuilding our family's life.
