Rebuilding Los Pozos, Panama

Hurricane Eta made its presence known on Thursday, November 12th as a Category 4 hurricane barreling in from the Gulf of Mexico. It relentlessly pounded our small mountain community of Los Pozos destroying homes, vital infrastructure, and, sadly, taking lives. Some are referring to Eta as a 100 year storm.
Los Pozos (The wells in English) is an agrarian mountain community in the highlands of Panama where coffee farmers, cattle ranchers, and milk producers live a tranquil, hard working life - until the storm hit. Over the course of five days, Eta dumped 15-25 inches of rain causing deadly mudslides, powerful rivers to break their banks, and bridges to collapse. The area is now completely isolated with no point of entry and more than 17 washed out areas of the winding mountain, rocky, road.
A national state of emergency has been called for this area. With the assistance of helicopters, we've been able to deliver food supplies and medicines to those still isolated. It will be several weeks before a passable road can be re-designed and made safe for vehicles. Estimates for the roadwork and bridge repair are enormous. We desperately need your help to ensure the infrastructure and homes are adequately rebuilt.
We've started this Go Fund Me account as a call to action to our friends, family, colleagues, business partners, and anyone who feels lead to give to this effort. Please assist us in our time of need. 100% of the funds raised for Rebuild Los Pozos will go directly towards rebuilding homes and repairing infrastructure. Full transparency will be provided and everyone who has given will be informed of the use of funds.
