Rebuilding Luis Hernandez Future
Donation protected
Luis Hernandez, a beloved local artist, has been an integral part of our community, generously sharing his time and art to celebrate the vibrant culture of Mexico. From volunteering at local organizations to showcasing his work at events like the Dia de Muertos festival in Seattle, Luis has left an indelible mark on our community.
Tragically, on the night of Saturday, December 2, Luis became the victim of a senseless act of violence. While being driven home by his in-laws, an unknown assailant opened fire on their car near Seward Park Ave S and Thistle St. The bullets struck Luis in his right arm, leaving him severely injured.
Currently hospitalized, Luis has undergone one surgery, but the extent of the damage requires another surgery for the reconstruction of his arm. Without health insurance, the financial burden is overwhelming. Luis, who has devoted his life to his art and community, now faces a significant challenge as he won't be able to work for several months, pending successful reconstruction.
How You Can Help:
Your support is crucial in helping Luis on his road to recovery. The funds raised will cover:
