Rebuilding Sipi Falls Lodge (Casa's Sipi site)
Tax deductible
On 19 February 2025, Sipi Falls Lodge, Uganda - owned by our dear friend Naminya Salah and Casa Uganda Safari and Lodges - was destroyed suddenly by a fire believed to have started in the community, see the photo below for Saleh's message on social media. Several staff were injured, but they are now recovering well.
Since COVID, Saleh and the team have been rebuilding all of their fabulous projects, and most of us have been lucky enough to benefit from their professionalism, hospitality, friendship, and a "home away from home" in Uganda. The Sipi Falls Lodge was rapidly growing in popularity since the pandemic, and both local and international visitors were flocking to the site. I (this is Lisa) was there in summer 2024 with my family, see the photos below of what the lodge and surrounds looked like before. I'm sure I can speak for all of us that we want to have Sipi Falls Lodge there to visit again, to bring our families back to, to bring our kids to visit, and to support our friends long into the future.
The Casa team is now having to rebuild - again. We are starting this fundraiser for Saleh and the whole Casa team to help get everyone through this awful event. I'm setting it up through ATLAS, so that all of your donations are tax deductible and that ALL donations will go to Casa.
Please consider helping them shoulder this heavy burden, standing with our friends and colleagues. We can help lighten the load and walk with them through this long and expensive road to rebuilding what was lost in the fire.
Thank you for considering donating, and for circulating this far and wide!
