Rebuilding the Goat Barn

My name is Normand and I have started this go fund me for my friend Allie. She is a good person and is a mess after losing her goats and dogs in a fire. Anyone who knows Allie knows that her goats meant the world to her. We are trying to help her rebuild her meat goat barn and replace everything that was lost. Insurance will not be covering it. Please consider donating to a young farmer that has lost her animals and could use some help.

My names Allie Buffone. In 2023, I left a terrible relationship and started a new life in Saskatchewan.

After I started on my healing journey I met my fiance and moved onto his farm in Rosenhof outside of Swift Current.

I love farm life - After spending most of my life in the lower mainland of BC , I finally felt like I had my sense of belonging. I feel in my soul that this is where I belong , and caring for animals gave me a sense of fulfilment that I'd never had before.

Generating farm income has been a struggle. As a lot of you may know , with inflation etc the initial costs were high and we did the best we could to fix up the facilities we had. I put my life savings into the farm and had help from my family back in BC.

We decided to get meat goats to have an additional stream of income for the farm.

We also got guardian livestock dogs to protect the herd. Ruger was an amazing dog , he would bark at any predators and protect the goats at all costs. Most LGD's stick with the herd and aren't much for people- But Ruger was the best of both worlds because he loved to show his affection to humans. He loved being a part of the farm, guarding his herd , and loving his human family.

February 21,2025 - We came home to find our barn engulfed in flames.

There was nothing we could do except stand back and watch. We could hear the cries of our animals.

Our goats and LGD's are gone. My heart hurts and I don't even know where to begin. All our hours of planning, time we put in , all our hard work was for nothing. I am struggling deeply and don't even know where to begin picking up the pieces. Emotionally I'm a wreck.

It turns out our insurance won't be covering anything other than the animals and contents which has made things even worse.
