Let’s Help the Families in Valencia Rebuild Their Homes After the DANA

We are a family with a deep love for Valencia—my husband, Enrique Alfonso Ramos, a Valencian native, and myself, Alex Suber, an Ecuadorian and American who has come to cherish this beautiful city. Together, we are committed to helping our community recover from the devastating impact of the recent DANA storm.

The DANA has left a deep mark on our community, causing extensive damage to homes and businesses. Many families and small businesses now face the daunting task of cleaning up mud and debris, often without the resources they need. The second challenge comes with furnishing their homes to make them livable again.

This campaign has two essential goals:

Cleaning Efforts – We’ve partnered with Kärcher, experts in cleaning solutions, to bring vital equipment directly to those affected. Every donation will fund high-pressure cleaning machines and specialized products to remove mud and dirt from damaged properties. The equipment is ready to be sent to Valencia. We’ve also organized a team of local volunteers, like Fran Bayarri and Sara Carmona, to ensure these tools reach the families and businesses who need them most.

Furnishing Homes – After cleaning, our mission is to help at least 20 families refurnish their homes. These are not just numbers; they are real people, each facing unique challenges as they try to recover. There’s Raquel, an elderly woman with Parkinson’s, and Teresa, who lives with her son. Lucia, a mother, is trying to keep a home for her three children, husband, and pets, while Fer and Eli, a young couple with three small children (the youngest just a year old), strive to rebuild. We’ll also be helping Angel and Juan Carlos, two young professionals, and families like Isabel’s, Araceli’s, and Nicoleta’s, who share their lives with small children and pets.

Among those affected are Marcelino and Yolanda, an elderly couple in their 90s, Fran and Gonzalo, siblings who care for their mother, and older individuals who live alone, like Manuel, Dori, Rosa, and Vicen. Tomas and his wife lost not only their home but also their business, and Oscar, who lives on the first floor with his 4-year-old son, faces a long road to recovery.

Your contributions will help us reach people in nearby Benetusser as well, including Alicia and Araceli, two young couples with small children and pets, whose lives have also been upended by this storm.

With our experience working with companies in home furnishings, and partnering with VLCHost, every donation will go directly toward essential furniture and home items, helping these families regain a sense of stability and comfort.

Ayudemos a las familias de Valencia a reconstruir sus hogares tras la DANA

Somos una familia con un profundo amor por Valencia: mi esposo, Enrique Alfonso Ramos, valenciano de nacimiento, y yo, Alex Suber, ecuatoriana y estadounidense que ha llegado a amar profundamente esta hermosa ciudad. Juntos, estamos comprometidos a ayudar a nuestra comunidad a recuperarse del devastador impacto de la reciente tormenta DANA.

La DANA ha dejado una profunda huella en nuestra comunidad, causando graves daños en viviendas y negocios. Muchas familias y pequeños negocios ahora enfrentan la enorme tarea de limpiar el barro y los escombros, a menudo sin los recursos necesarios para hacerlo. El segundo desafío es amoblar sus hogares para hacerlos habitables de nuevo.

Esta campaña tiene dos objetivos esenciales:

Esfuerzos de Limpieza – Nos hemos unido a Kärcher, expertos en soluciones de limpieza, para llevar equipos vitales directamente a los afectados. Cada donación financiará máquinas de limpieza de alta presión y productos especializados para eliminar el barro y la suciedad de las propiedades dañadas. El equipo está listo para enviarse a Valencia. También hemos organizado un equipo de voluntarios locales, como Fran Bayarri y Sara Carmona, para garantizar que estas herramientas lleguen a las familias y negocios que más las necesitan.

Amueblar los Hogares – Después de la limpieza, nuestra misión es ayudar a al menos 20 familias a amoblar nuevamente sus hogares. No son solo números; son personas reales, cada una enfrentando desafíos únicos para recuperarse. Está Raquel, una mujer mayor con Parkinson, y Teresa, quien vive con su hijo. Lucía, una madre, lucha por mantener un hogar para sus tres hijos, su esposo y sus mascotas, mientras que Fer y Eli, una pareja joven con tres hijos pequeños (el más joven de solo un año), intentan reconstruir. También ayudaremos a Ángel y Juan Carlos, dos jóvenes profesionales, y a familias como las de Isabel, Araceli y Nicoleta, que comparten sus vidas con niños pequeños y mascotas.

Entre los afectados están Marcelino y Yolanda, una pareja de ancianos en sus 90 años; Fran y Gonzalo, hermanos que cuidan de su madre; y personas mayores que viven solas, como Manuel, Dori, Rosa y Vicen. Tomás y su esposa no solo perdieron su hogar, sino también su negocio, y Óscar, quien vive en un bajo con su hijo de 4 años, enfrenta un largo camino hacia la recuperación.

Tus contribuciones también nos permitirán llegar a personas en Benetússer, como Alicia y Araceli, dos parejas jóvenes con hijos pequeños y mascotas, cuyas vidas también han sido devastadas por esta tormenta.

Gracias a nuestra experiencia trabajando con empresas de muebles para el hogar y colaborando con VLCHost, cada donación se destinará directamente a muebles y artículos esenciales para el hogar, ayudando a estas familias a recuperar un sentido de estabilidad y comodidad.
