Campaign by Rebecca Zama, Wildie Ceccherini, Stefan Ceccherini for Foundation to Help Youths of L'Asile Haiti (Inc.)
We are in a state of Emergency, L'Asile, Haiti is in need of rebuilding and emergency relief. L'Asile, Haiti is a small commune of 35,000 people in the south of Haiti, in the Nippes Department. After days of not being able to reach anyone in L'Asile, we have gotten word that Hurricane Matthew has destroyed the homes of thousands, the school buildings and churches have been severely damaged, and many people have lost everything, are injured or have passed away. Mudslides have destroyed whatever the hurricane didn't already significantly damage. L'Asile is made up of several villages, surrounded by 3 rivers, and many these communities in addition to having been ravaged by the hurricane are also flooded and isolated by the overflowing rivers. With thousands of people left homeless, WE NEED TO PROVIDE RELIEF, FOOD AND SHELTER. Please look at the pictures attached to see the extent of the damage. The Foundation to Help Youths of L'Asile Haiti is a 501c3 non-profit organisation that provides enrichment programs for youth and the greater population of L'Asile, Haiti. Since 2012, we have worked directly with the community providing school supplies, funding for schools, equipment sports teams. We also have founded a sewing academy, cosmetology school. In 2014, we established a Clean Water Project, we installed a solar powered reservoir that provides potable water to the community. We are a Boston based organisation, our chief correspondents are: Wildie Cecchirini (President), Rebecca Zama (Youth Ambassador/Organizer), Stefan Ceccherini (Youth ambassador), Joey Zama-Lenfest (youth ambassador) Nunotte Zama (Legal Advisor and Organizer).
We are asking for $20,000 dollars to be able to provide relief to the people of L'Asile. We define relief as food, water, hardware supplies, and temporary shelter until we have gathered enough funds to start rebuilding process for the inhabitants of L'Asile, and we will continue the fundrasiign process as we continue to rebuild the community and recover from this natural disaster. This $20,000 allows us to buy materials such as iron, cement, hardware tools, and other metals needed to start building homes and halls to house those who have been displaced. In addition, these funds will cover the shipping costs of sending over materials that cannot be found in Haiti such as non-perishables, tarp, clothing, and small tents.
We need this as soon as possible. We are aiming to raise this money by the end of October and into November. The people of L'Asile are our family, and friends, and their wellbeing is our priority. Most of the resources that go to Haiti never reach the countryside, and it is our mission to do what we can to help. This is an emergency, L'Asile needs our help. We will be so thankful to anyone that donates, every donation counts and helps tremendously. We rely heavily on the generosity of others, and in this time of need, we need it more than ever.
Donations are tax deductable. Please email [email redacted] for more information and for the tax deduction forms as well.
