Help Rebuild Sugar & Snow from Helene Aftermath
Donation protected
Like many local businesses, Hurricane Helene destroyed the Sugar and Snow Gelato shop in Asheville, NC--the best damn chocolate gelato in town. It's a small, woman-owned business built from the ground up by our dear friend, Amy Murashige.
Ams, as we call her, is a Navy brat, who spent part of her childhood in Italy when her dad was stationed there. She started her shop as a cart twelve years ago, selling gelato at Farmer's markets around town, events, and catering weddings, including ours. She takes so much joy in sharing her love of all things sweet, her affinity for gelato, and her particular obsession with quality ingredients that are locally sourced.
Sugar & Snow created jobs for people in Asheville. But more than jobs, Ams created a team. Even after she had to tell her staff she had to let them go because her entire business was under the river, her staff showed up at her house with food, hugs, and tears. Amy turned around and shared that food, opening her house as distribution center to friends.
Tomorrow, she'll be out at 6am running food distribution operations with the MANNA Foodbank in town, trying to get survivors of this disaster help that they desperately need. But she needs help too!
Please contribute to this fundraiser and help Amy rebuild her business by helping her buy new freezers, kitchen equipment, a display case, find a new location, and front the costs of recovery and rebuilding.
