Help to rebuild House of Covenant International Church

Dear Friends,

Our church, House of Covenant International, has endured a series of heartbreaking events that have left our community

devastated. On September 14th, after surviving two previous arson attempts, our building was finally destroyed by a fire that ravaged both our church and the apartments above, which provided housing for low-income families. The fire took the lives of two residents, Geda Wodisso and Zenabu Gula. Although they weren’t members of our church, they were part of our extended community, and their loss is deeply felt by all of us.

This tragedy has left us not only grieving for their lives but also mourning the loss of our spiritual home, a place that for years served as a sanctuary for prayer, fellowship, and support for our communities of Winnipeg.

To add to our pain, in the days following the fire, our church was broken into and robbed, leaving us with even fewer resources to begin rebuilding. The weight of these losses has been overwhelming, but in the midst of this sorrow, we are thankful that the person responsible for the fire has been arrested, giving us some sense of closure.

We are now turning to you, our friends and extended community, for help. We cannot rebuild alone. Your donations will go toward restoring our church, replacing what was stolen, and allowing us to continue our mission of serving those in need, offering hope, and bringing light into the darkness. Every little bit helps, and your prayers and support mean the world to us in this difficult time.

Though we are wounded, we are not without hope. We believe in the power of community, faith, and love, and with your help, we can rise from the ashes and rebuild.

ውድ ጓደኞቼ

ቤተ ክርስቲያናችን፣ የቃል ኪዳን ቤት ኢንተርናሽናል፣ ማህበረሰባችንን ለከፋ ችግር የዳረጉትን ተከታታይ ልብ የሚሰብሩ ክስተቶችን አሳልፋለች። በሴፕቴምበር 14፣ ከዚህ ቀደም ከተደረጉት ሁለት የእሳት ቃጠሎዎች ተርፈን፣ ህንጻችን በመጨረሻ ቤተክርስቲያናችንን እና ከላይ ያሉትን አፓርትመንቶች በደረሰ የእሳት ቃጠሎ ወድሟል፣ ይህም ዝቅተኛ ገቢ ላላቸው ቤተሰቦች መኖሪያ ነበር። በቃጠሎው የሁለት ነዋሪዎች ህይወት አለፈ፤ ገዳ ወዲሶ እና ዘናቡ ጉላ። ምንም እንኳን የቤተክርስቲያናችን አባላት ባይሆኑም፣ የሰፋፊው ማህበረሰባችን አካል ነበሩ፣ እና የእነሱ ኪሳራ በሁላችንም ዘንድ ጥልቅ ነው።

ይህ አደጋ በዊኒፔግ የኢትዮጵያ እና ኤርትራ ማህበረሰብ ውስጥ ለብዙ አመታት የጸሎት ፣የህብረት እና የድጋፍ ማደሪያ ሆኖ ያገለገለውን መንፈሳዊ ቤታችንን በማጣታችን ለህይወታቸው ማዘን ብቻ ሳይሆን ሀዘንን ጥሎናል።

ህመማችንን ለመጨመር እሳቱን ተከትሎ በነበሩት ቀናት ቤተ ክርስቲያናችን ተሰበረ እና ተዘርፋለች፤ ከዚህም ያነሰ ሃብት አፍርተን እንደገና እንገነባለን። የእነዚህ ኪሳራዎች ክብደት እጅግ በጣም ብዙ ነበር, ነገር ግን በዚህ ሀዘን ውስጥ, ለእሳቱ ተጠያቂ የሆነው ሰው በቁጥጥር ስር ስለዋለ እናመሰግናለን, የተወሰነ የመዘጋት ስሜት ይሰጠናል.

አሁን ለእርዳታ ወደ እርስዎ፣ ጓደኞቻችን እና ሰፊው ማህበረሰብ እየዞርን ነው። ብቻችንን እንደገና መገንባት አንችልም። ልገሳዎ ቤተክርስቲያናችንን ወደ ነበረበት ለመመለስ፣ የተሰረቀውን ለመተካት እና የተቸገሩትን የማገልገል፣ ተስፋን ለመስጠት እና ብርሃንን ወደ ጨለማ ለማምጣት ተልእኳችንን እንድንቀጥል ያስችላል። እያንዳንዱ ትንሽ ይረዳል፣ እናም የእርስዎ ጸሎት እና ድጋፍ በዚህ አስቸጋሪ ጊዜ ውስጥ ለእኛ ዓለም ማለት ነው።

ብንጎዳም ተስፋ አልባ አይደለንም። በማህበረሰብ፣ በእምነት እና በፍቅር ሃይል እናምናለን፣ እና በእርስዎ እገዛ፣ ከአመድ ተነስተን እንደገና መገንባት እንችላለን።
