Starlink Subscriptions - Reconnect Carriacou & PM to Family
Donation protected
For nearly a decade, I have lived on the island Carriacou, a Sister Isle in the country of Grenada.
Hurricane Beryl was a direct hit on the island as a Category 4 hurricane with 150+ MPH winds.
A week later, international aid is starting to arrive, but communication is severely limited as the cell tower for the island was knocked down when the eye hit.
In conjunction with Sister Isles Relief and Restoration Committee and other community groups in the West Indies, we have privately secured a number of Starlink satellite internet systems to install in remote communities on Carriacou and Petite Martinique that still cannot connect with loved ones and do not get timely updates about relief efforts (10 at last count, more arriving tomorrow).
I am on the ground in Carriacou installing these systems, but the problem is that while the hardware donations are useful, the monthly subscriptions are at least $150 USD.
If you are looking for a way to donate directly to Carriacou & PM that will have both an immediate and long-term benefit (think remote schools with high-speed satellite data), please consider donating to this drive to defray the expenses associated with the subscriptions.
In addition, should donations surpass six months' of subscriptions, we will look to source high efficiency solar generators to power the units and/or immediate rebuilding needs (nails and tarps).
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.
